About the Author

Bruna Mendes, main author of Teaching Concerns, has a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and other important certificates from international courses in England.

She has been a teacher for more than twelve years in some of the most prestigious schools and language centres in Brazil, such as St Giles College and Cultura Inglesa. On several occasions, she has gained recognition as one of the best-evaluated teachers trainer in the institutions she has worked in.

Furthermore, she has been an important force in the initiation of Teachers Training Courses in most of the institutions she has worked in as a Pedagogical Advisor. She currently resides in São Paulo, and she holds a number of recognized international certificates such as Trinity, CPE and CELTA (Cambridge University).






Thiago de Moraes, co-author of Teaching Concerns, aka Jimmy Astley, has been in the ELT field for nearly 4 years. He studies English language and literature at UFPE (Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, Brazil) and holds a FCE (First Certificate in English) and a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults), both from Cambridge University.
He currently works for Cultura Inglesa, one of the most prestigious language institutes in Brazil.
